MINERVA GAS and its whole fleet of newly built LNG vessels have become Members of the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association – HELMEPA, an Non-Profit and Non-Governmental Organization, the mission of which, is to assist the seafarers and shore personnel of the wider maritime community to acquire a safety spirit and environmental consciousness, through information and awareness.
HELMEPA was established in 1982, symbolizing the pioneering commitment of Greek seafarers and shipowners to protect the oceans from the ship-generated marine pollution, at a time when the today’s environmental challenges, we are facing, such as the exhaust gas and greenhouse gas emissions, the treatment of ballast water and the elimination of liquid operational discharges at sea, were almost unknown.
By joining HELMEPA, the human element of MINERVA GAS, from our seafarers to the top management is voluntarily committed to support the aims for Safe Ships in Clean Seas. We look forward to actively cooperating with the Maritime and Environmental Awareness Sectors of HELMEPA and participate into training activities and other campaigns.
